Sophie’s Moist

This morning, I couldn’t find my umbrella [in the 20 seconds I spent looking in its normal spot] so I took a cab. It hasn’t stopped raining so far, and I expect it to continue through my journey home. Do I

1) Take another cab

2) Purchase an umbrella somewhere in the safety of the PATH before venturing outside

The umbrella would be re-usable, unlike the money spent on the cab, but might cost more than cab fare - plus I do already have an umbrella somewhere. It’s situations like this where I really need an accountant. Or a sense of organization, or at least common sense.

If you’re wondering why I’m not considering 3) TTC, that’s because waiting in the rain and then cramming into a steamy meat tube full of other wet people is absolutely worse than not only the aforementioned options, but also worse than

4) Walking home sans umbrella and getting soaked.
